Danny Trejo the Los Angeles actor most famous for his collaborations with Austin director Robert Rodriguez took to California Governors’ Twitter account to do a Covid-19 PSA. In his iconic raspy voice the 75 year old actor urges everyone to stay home and to wash their hands. Watch for yourself below.

That’s not all Trejo contributed. This week the From Dusk Till Dawn actor teamed up with restaurants in Los Angeles to distribute meals to over 1,000 families. In addition to food they also provided families with other protective essentials such as gloves, marks, and sanitizers.

He also recently partnered with Amazon Live to at-home-cooking stream to support Feeding America. The man may play a tough guy on screen but turns out he’s just a big softy!

I partnered with #AmazonLive and chefs across America to host At Home Cooking, a livestreamed cook-a-thon to support @FeedingAmerica. Together, we will be helping to provide meals to those in need. The man, the myth, and the Machete.

The man is a jack of all trades. In addition to acting Trejo owns three businesses in Los Angeles; Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts, Trejo’s Tacos, and Trejo’s Cantina. Unfortunately for us those are in Los Angeles and not available to us here in Austin but don’t worry there might be a way to get Trejo’s Tacos at home. The man who has been in over 300 movies somehow found time to publish a cookbook. That’s right, Hollywood’s baddest good guy shares 75 recipes that make Trejo’s Tacos the LA go-to for tacos, donuts, and more. Get your copy here .

Trejo has spent a lot of time in Austin and love the city. He recently did an interview with The Horn where he talks about food in Austin, 6th Street and that time he thought that the Hook’em was a gang sign. He’s waiting for Covid-19 to be over so he can come back to Austin for a visit.
